Keeping the heat down so the crafts don't melt....

Day 30

Want your own frosty person who doesn't sing and parade around town but also won't make your rug soggy cause they don't MELT away! No sad kid faces here when the sun comes out cause they stay around all year if you let them!

Get your very own snow person-only gonna make about 8 of them to start with cause they stand about 32" tall without their hats and they are overtaking the crafting lair-snow person world domination maybe?

Here is the prototype almost done-needs face, hat and snowperson accessories! They take A LOT of stuffing and I am recruiting the kids to stuff giant balls of fluffiness!

See the chenille yo-yos from the scraps leftover from the Peppermint Dot Scarves? yea I'm scrapbusting...

Best thing about these is that I am also making miniatures half this size and they are such cuties...pics of those in a separate post to show them off in their own spotlight...

Everything will be available for ordering online at Artfire by the end of the week and if you live in the ALbuquerque area just shoot me an email momtasticstitchery@gmail.com you will be able to pick some of them up at the Expo on 12/5

You likey my POM POM bracelet? Totally kewl...

Day 29

I was informed that night that I can spell 'cool' k-e-w-l and although since donning the mom badge I would not let the word pass my lips in front of the pre-teens for fear of them perishing from extreme embarrassment I feel that it is ok if I use it on the blog...

I like the girls to make things for their friends birthdays and so far they are always appreciated.

We pulled out of box of magic craftiness and stared at it for a while until me-the kewl mom- had a lightbulb go off over her head- I can put pom poms together to make a really kewl bracelet AND G1 can make it all on her own YAY!

Apparently it was a big hit and she just loved it so G1 informed me I can add 'awesomely' to my 'kewl' status lol lol

Someone gave out friendship bracelets to other girls at the party-you know the kind that a couple of friends all wear to show they are BFFs (that is Best Friends Forever for the unkewl not in the know lol)
I am wondering do they have bracelets for frenemies cause I seem to acquire those quicker than friends over the years lol lol gonna have to craft one up I am....just added it to the list!

I will put up a tutorial for this later on today after I get some work done and take G2 to rehearsal.

Oh and can I give a small mom brag here---> G2 was asked to be on the Albuquerque Youth Symphony Junior Strings group, filling out the paperwork today.....so very cool or is that kewl!??

Smattering of snow on the mesa and a smidge of rain...

Day 28

Yesterday I spent the entire day cutting and stitching for the Que Pasa Holiday Expo which will open from 8AM-3PM on Saturday, December 5th at Rio West Community Church 6751 Pasilla Road, Rio Rancho. The Expo is not affiliated with the church they just use the space for their expo as it is large and the bonus is it has a beautiful view of the Sandias from their HUGE windows. There will be all sorts of women owned businesses there from jewelry to candles to cooking and card-making to of course sewing!

Today we woke up to a smattering of snow after an evening of light dashes of cold rain. Of course it did this while I was running G1 to a swim team building event and then to a bday party. I think I have arrived at pre-teen hood when I had 3 girls in the van singing to a song on Radio Disney, giggling and talking about boys all literally in the same breath. This as I am pretending not to hear and driving AND turning the radio up as loud as possible so as not to hear cause frankly I am not ready for that part of my life so I will ignore it for a bit longer!

The girls and hub have decided to start the holiday decorating early (I guess building and demolishing the gingerbread house kicked it off officially.) So they got out all the decorations and made an executive decision to have a different kind of tree this year--we never do anything the same way each year gotta keep it fresh right?!

The tree is going up in our loft AKA the kid hang out area....

Yes those ARE orange lights on the tree....more to come on this as we decorate....teehee what will it be?
